Location

Set on the eastern bank of the Goulburn River, near Denman, in the Upper Hunter Valley, the Pyramid Hill vineyards stretch over 72 hectares of undulating landscape that gently slopes away to the Goulburn River.

The vineyard is bordered for 2.5 kilometres by the beautiful sandy bed of the river, with the bush-covered hills of the Wollemi National Park facing the vines from the adjacent river bank. This National Park, along with the Blue Mountains to the south and the Goulburn River National Park to the west, forms a massive wilderness area that covers over 15,000 square kilometres.

Among these rugged hills hides a rare relic of prehistoric times, the famous Wollemi Pine, a genus of tree that dates back to the Jurassic age and yet was only recently discovered. This whole wilderness area provides a pristine source of unpolluted water which nurtures the vines of Pyramid Hill.

Where to find Us

 

 

Pyramid Hill Vineyard is only three hours from Sydney.   The most direct route to the vineyard is via the very scenic road through the Wollombi valley.  This route can be reached by taking the Peats Ridge exit from the main northern freeway (F3) and going via Peats Ridge, Kulnura, Bucketty, Laguna, Wollombi, and Broke.  Just out of Broke go over a small bridge and turn left towards Arrowfield and Fordwich Berry Farm. Turn Right when you reach the Putty Road and then left almost immediately down the Wallaby Scrub Road until you get to the main road and then turn left towards Jerrys Plains. Once at Jerrys Plains you can take the back road to Martindale or else travel via Denman.      

Alternatively go further up the freeway and take the Cessnock exit and travel via Cessnock, the Pokolbin wine area and along the Broke Road to Broke and on to Jerry’s Plains.
